E-Bike Class System (United States Standard)

  • Class 1: Pedal assist only, up to 20 MPH
  • Class 2: Throttle capable, up to 20 MPH
  • Class 3: Pedal assist only, up to 28 MPH

Most states follow this classification system, but rules regarding where e-bikes can be used may differ.

General Safety Guidelines
