iZip E3 Dash 48V 17.5Ah Battery Upgrade

Do you want to double your range on your iZip E3 Dash, E3 Peak, or E3 Sumo e-bike? Previously, if you wanted an upgrade, we could only rebuild it to 48V 10.5Ah (improving it from 8.7Ah) due to the size of the case. Now, with some basic soldering, we've found we can offer one of our own 48V 17.5Ah Sea Lion batteries or Shark 2 Battery as a compatible replacement! This effectively doubles the capacity of the original.

You just have to disconnect the original battery and the mounting bracket, exposing the wires leading down into the frame of the bike. Then splice the red and black wires together and connect it to our battery! There is no need to connect non-power wires to our battery. This has worked best for models with hub motors.

This kit could also fit on other bikes that utilize the Currie downtube battery pack, such as the Diamondback Trace EXC, Overdrive or other models.

While the middle two wires aren't connected, we've successfully installed new throttles with battery level indicators so you'll know how much power you have left. The indicator on the stock display and the estimated range won't function any more.

@Jason – The blue and the white wires in the picture are not connected, so your display will not show the battery charge remaining. You do not necessarily need a new throttle, but this one gives you an indicator for battery charge.

Can you please translate the above text? Which two wire are being spoken about? Is a new throttle necessary/needed?

    Thanks.

@Harvey – Any of our 48V batteries should work: https://ebikemarketplace.com/collections/48v-batteries

But you sent my battery back, and my money too for which I thank you. So let me know how much, please. Sincerely, Harvey Milam Santa Cruz CA

@Andrew – The bike will run without the blue and white wires connected, but you’ll be missing information on the display.
