Haibike Sduro Battery by Yamaha
Posted on February 28 2019
We recently got an up close look at a 36V 11.0Ah Yamaha battery for the Haibike Sduro e-bike. It's pretty sleek and slender to blend in well with the frame to give it a slightly more covert look than some of the other bulky batteries out there. But let's take a look inside to see what we're really getting in to.
Here's what the pack looks like out of the case. The bottom cap is secured only by 4 screws and the pack slides smoothly in and out. There are 40 total cells wired up in a 10S 4P configuration. It's long and the cells are hexagonally stacked no more than three high. With current state-of-the-art cells, this pack could be upgraded to 14Ah. The top circuit board is absolutely massive even though the chips are concentrated in two areas. There are metal tabs from each set of parallel cells soldered directly to the board.
Here's a closer look at the BMS with some of the connections. There is lots of silicone glue to cover any potentially exposed metal to keep short circuits to a minimum. The charge connector utilizes the blue and white wires so it's not a simple + and - connection. There's even a little white wire on the discharge port. This makes it difficult to replace or repair if the BMS ever stops working, not to mention the custom size it's cut out in.

My Yamaha 400wh battery starts to take a charge for a couple of mins ( only gets to 1% on handlebar display) after which I get this alternating flashing lights.
Is it possible you guys could recell the battery as replacement batteries are absolutely mad money for some reason?
Hope you can help.
@Ken – We do not stock these batteries, either new or rebuilt.
Really want to buy two 500 watt reconditioned haibike replacement batteries…
Plus a storage rack that would safely carry up to 4 additional batteries for my 100 mile all terrain endure rides..has to be very secure as everything I have tried ends up with damage to the batteries…I think there are many people who would want this product..
@Jorge – We are unfamiliar with the error codes, so you’d be better off contacting an authorized dealer.
@Rhodri – You would be better off looking for an authorized Yamaha Haibike dealer.

Hello, this BMS can be safely disconnected from the battery pack and the cells can be replaced? Battery/BMS will start again after reconnect everything together?

I wonder if you can help. My husbands Hai bike sduro 7 seems to have stopped working, he has been told it needs a new battery and he was quoted €600, I wondered if you could re-cell the battery and if so how much it would cost?
Many thanks Jean
